What I do

Veterinary care for dogs, cats, small pets and wildlife

From the first look to the follow-up you stay in my personal care: examinations, treatment and surgery in one place, lab and ultrasound in the building, and experience with birds, small pets and wildlife.

Birds and small pets

Budgies, parrots, hamsters, rats, chinchillas and rabbits: examined and treated by a vet who knows birds, with doses weighed to the gram.

Ultrasound

Abdomen, organs and heart on ultrasound, plus ECG. Ultrasound in dogs and cats is one of my specialties.

In-house lab

Blood count, organ values and parasitology analysed here in the practice, results in 10 minutes, during the same appointment.

Neutering and soft tissue surgery

Spaying and neutering, tumour removal, foreign bodies and wound care. Pre-op blood check in my own lab, anaesthesia monitored by me.

Dental treatment

Tartar removal, tooth extraction, a thorough look at the whole mouth. Dental pain often goes unnoticed in dogs and cats for a long time.

Vaccination, check-ups and travel

Vaccinations following the schedule and, where needed, adjusted to your animal, yearly check-ups, blood work for older animals. Tick and worm protection, microchip and EU pet passport.

Your vet

Dr. med. vet. Márcia Cavalcanti

I grew up in Brazil and have lived in Germany for more than 25 years. I studied veterinary medicine in both countries and received my German licence in Hannover in 2016. I am a member of the Hessen Chamber of Veterinarians.

My focus is internal medicine, reproductive medicine, ultrasound and pharmaceutical medicine, which I also studied, so I know how drugs are developed and how they are best used. I run this practice on my own, which means you see me at every visit, and I know every one of my patients personally.

You are welcome to speak English or Portuguese with me. Many of my clients come from abroad, and language should never stand between you and good care for your pet.
